WHAT TO WATCH THIS WEEK IN THE GRAINS
This week we will have the USDA WASDE report out Tuesday after a long weekend. The markets are entering weather mode. So every forecast will have the ability to change price direction on the flip of a coin.
We are also in a time where demand headlines could also change the direction of the markets quickly. If we continue to see days with flash sale announcements, that means demand will remain strong and solid, and opens the door for us to go higher. On the other hand if we go a week or two without any, that might make some question demand and opens the door for some weakness.
Regards to this week's USDA report, how does the USDA play it. Do they cut our carry over or not, and by how much. As the tighter our carry out gets the more important our weather becomes and vice versa.
Seasonally we are in the time where we should be adding weather premium to our markets, we are in the time where a lot of seasonal trades are buying. So those become sort of a self fulfilling prophecy. There have been seasonal trades that have worked for years, and they are all buying presently and will continue to do so over the next month or two. We won't start seeing the seasonals get into selling into we get into June or July. Can the seasonals take off like we expect?
